The BACB governs practitioners.
Who governs the organizations?
abaethics.org is the transparency platform for ABA provider organizations. Search — organization records and — location records in — states and territories. Identity reconciliation is in progress.
Ethical companies in the spotlight
Ten at a time, in random rotation — spotlighted because their ownership is independently verified
The ABA industry has an accountability gap.
The ABA field is experiencing unprecedented consolidation — and the people who deliver the therapy keep leaving. Annual staff turnover at autism/IDD organizations averaged 77.4%–103.3% in 2024 (CentralReach Autism & IDD Care Market Report, 2025).
The BACB holds individual practitioners accountable. But no one holds the organizations accountable.
abaethics.org changes that.

US RBTs whose credential lapsed in 2024 alone — one in six of the technicians delivering ABA therapy. The BACB surveyed them all: pay (57%) and how the company treated them (44%) led the reasons they left. BACB Exit Survey, Dec 2025 (PDF) →
Featured independent research
Private Equity in Autism Services
A peer-reviewed 2026 study from researchers at Brown University, RAND, and Harvard mapped 574 private-equity-acquired autism-service sites across 42 states and 147 acquisitions. It is essential context for ownership transparency—not a substitute for verifying each organization.

A behavioral accountability system — not just a review site.
Transparency
Every ABA organization in America, listed with location count, ratings, and ownership classification — sources cited wherever a determination is shown.
Verification
Organizations verify their ownership and ethics commitments through a documented claims process.
Accountability
Staff and families rate organizations on 7 ethics dimensions — supervision, training, turnover, and more.
Consequences
Ethical organizations attract and retain the best BCBAs, technicians, and parents. Unethical ones face natural accountability.
Authoritative about facts.
Gentle with the people reading them.
Behind every search on this site is someone who loves someone. So we hold a hard line on evidence — registries, filings, dated citations — and a soft one everywhere else. Where we haven't verified something yet, we say so plainly, because a guess dressed as a fact helps no one.
"I started working on ESBAP in 2018 because I saw a gap that nobody was filling. The BACB does important work governing individual practitioners — but organizations were operating without accountability. Eight years later, with 15 years of data from Special Learning and direct experience serving 28,000+ ABA professionals across 140+ countries, we are finally building the system I always envisioned. Individually, we are powerless. Collectively, we are strong."KAREN CHUNG · FOUNDER

Common Questions
What is abaethics.org?
A free directory and transparency platform for ABA therapy organizations, run by the Ethics Standards Board for ABA Providers. It lists organization and location records with cited sources.
Is it free for families?
Yes. Searching, browsing profiles, and reading everything on the site is free for families and always will be.
How is ownership classified?
Each ownership classification — PE-backed, BCBA-owned, university or hospital affiliated — is shown only when source evidence is on file, and the source is displayed with it. Where verification is still underway, the profile says "verification in progress" rather than making a claim.
Can organizations respond or correct information?
Yes. Owners can claim their profile for free and respond in their own words, and anyone can suggest a correction. Every published item carries its source and date, with a path to request a correction.
Do organizations pay for standing?
No. A paid listing never buys standing, ratings, or classification. Sponsorship, when offered, differentiates presentation only.
